Some of the client machines are not able to open the PDF files with Adobe reader from the Quest List View Webpart.

Due to some the old versions of Adobe Acrobat reader on the client machines the PDF files could not open.
Resolution
Upgrade the Adobe Acrobat reader to the latest version at least 8.0 and onwards.
