This issue still arises from time to time, and we are keeping an eye on this, but it may not be completely addressed until we have upgraded our third-party (Telerik) controls.
The current known workaround is to NOT use IE compatibility mode but use the default "IE 8 Standard" for IE 8 users and you should not be seeing this issue then. You can find the browser mode setting in Developer Tools (F12) in IE.
