AnonymousParticipantHi Kate,
This is the expected and the desired behavior. The cross-site lookup field gets saved in that format and is displayed correclty in qListView web part using the "Display Field Name" feature under the "If this is a cross…" section (ezEdit->Display Fields->Edit). There is no point to try to display that value in OOB list view web part since it is not aware of the actual value that holds that string.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

AnonymousParticipantSo, the solution is to use our qListView web part to display the list instead of OOB list view web part.
Thank you,
Kate

AnonymousParticipantHi,
QWP 5.6 (going to upgrade to 5.7)
SP2010
There is a Cross-lookup field created in qListView, that allows to select a value from another list and set it to the “People lookup text” field.
The field looks as follows in the list (OOB list view web part):
From docs:
To use this feature, create a single-line-of-text field, not a lookup field. Internally, the List Form will store the field value in this format: siteUrl;#listName;#listItemId.
So, kind of expected behavior… but is it possible to display the value in the list but not this string?
Thanks,
Kate

AnonymousParticipantHi Kate,
You're correct. Using qListView and the proper settings the string for the cross-site lookup field value shows up in a friendly manner.
