There is not a  web part that can 'look' inside an excel spreadsheet without first importing the spreadsheet into SharePoint.  Once the spreadsheet was imported, you could use the qChartView web parts for graphing.

Sorry to be so dense but by importing do you mean uploading the excel file to a document library?

Hello everyone, is there a web part that will ‘look’ inside an excel spreadsheet and then be able to create a graph? Quite a few of the users have their data in spreadsheets and dont wish to update a sharepoint list in order to maintain a graph.

I just found the import option under 'custom lists', I see what you mean now.
