      Just to clarify, entering multiple times doesn’t increase your chances of winning. But it sure is great to see how much value Golder Associates is getting out of Quest Web Parts for SharePoint!

      In their official contest entry, , Golder describes how they used nearly all of the 18 Quest Web Parts to build a rich web portal for their internal and external stakeholders. Golder heavily relied on Quest’s Systems Integration (SI) web parts, qSIListView, qSIListForm, and qSISelector, for integrating with external data in SQL Server.

      For Golder, the most valuable features of Quest Web Parts were:

      n

      1. The ease of deployment and configuration.
      2. n

      3. The web interface for the web parts which is easy to understand and use.
      4. n

      5. That it’s easy to change field names and other text.
      6. n

      7. The SI (System Integration) features, making it possible to communicate with a standard SQL Server database through web services;
      8. n

      9. The Custom Display functionality of the qListView is extremely important and used extensively, partly for lay-out purposes (e.g. showing data horizontally instead of vertically or making more compact/easier to read/nicer looking views), partly for showing secondary content (embed other information like maps, charts and photos in iFrames) and partly to achieve the necessary functionality using javascript functions;
      10. n

      11. The ability to make use of and pass on parameters to other web parts (as http parameters, web part connections or session parameters);
      12. n

      13. The ability to use relative links, meaning anything developed on one site can easily can be copied to other sites;
      14. n

      15. The Hide/Show user group functionality makes it possible to have different content for different users on the same page. Used e.g. so some users only see validated results, others see all results.
      16. n
