My principal hope for qDiscussionView is that OOTB I can create a modern look and feel (much like the one on this site) without coding or custom XML. If so, how? If not, then the web part seems to be not much more than an aggregator.

(If an appropriate response to my question is RTFM, then I’ll do so – but so far I haven’t found a detailed manual on the topic.)

Hi Brian,

This community is not a SharePoint product but a web application product that runs outside of SharePoint. 

You can create a discussion having a pretty close look and feel with this discussion using qDiscussionView web part.

These are the things that I can think of that you wouldn't be able to achieve without some custom code:

– stars ratings

– like button

– left hand side user/stats/picture
