Important Notes about Freeware DiscussionView and Silverlight Web Parts

      It’s come to our attention that there is some confusion about the requirements of our free and web parts. I hope this post will clear up any confusion you may have. If you have any questions, please comment on this discussion or post a new question.

      1. If you already have the commercial version of Quest Web Parts for SharePoint installed (including trial mode), DO NOT INSTALL THE qDISCUSSIONVIEW FREEWARE WEB PART

        2. n

      2. If you already have the qDiscussionView freeware web part installed and want to install the commercial version of Quest Web Parts for SharePoint instead, please remove the freeware version before installing the commercial package

        3. n

      3. The qDiscussionView in the commercial package includes advanced functionality that is not included in this freeware qDiscussionView

        4. n

      4. The qForum web part is Silverlight-based, and therefore requires Silverlight. However, the commercial version of the Quest Web Parts DOES NOT require Silverlight.
