Hello there,

Soon to be migrating from SharePoint 2007 to SharePoint 2010 (over the next few months). The Sharepoint 2007 farm has Quest web parts version 5.1 installed. The Sharepoint 2010 farm has quest web parts 5.6 installed. Is it best to bring the 2007 farm quest web parts version up to the same level as the 2010 farm quest web parts version?

Hi Richard,

  I'd say that is a must. The customer can't mix QWP versions.

Uninstall QWP 5.1, then do the migration to SP2010 then use the existing QWP 5.6 already installed and deploy/activate QWP.

Also they need to use the ConfigurationEditor tool on each WFE server where QWP is will be deployed.
