      Quest Webparts for Sharepoint v5.1

      SharePoint 2007

      Hi

I am using qlistform to replace the default WP on a list’s Newform.aspx page. All works as expected for my users until i introduced folders into the list that are uniquely permissioned, i.e. users can only add items to the appropriate folder and do not have contributor permissions to the list root (they have read only).

The MAJOR issue that I am having is that users are unable to add items to their folders. The following error is generated:

“The following error occurred: You do not have permission to add a new item into the “xxxx” list”

After some investigation (to ensure that the permissions logic was sound), it seems that users must have contribute rights to the list root or they cannot contribute to any folder, even if they have contributor rights to the folder.  This is not aligned with the vanilla list permissioning model.

Is this a documented bug that is fixed in new versions of the wepbarts?

      Thanks!!

      Hi Jamie,

You're using QWP 5.1 and that version is quite old.

Please download the latest version from http://www.quest.com/web-parts-for-sharepoint/ and try again your scenario.

Let me know how that goes.
