      Hi Kirk,

Sorry for taking so long to look at your questions.

The search applies only to the parent list.

Regarding the second option, use 2 date time fields and add them to the search panel.

The date time picker shows up and the operators to use are After and Before. This gives you a date range filter.

Will a future release provide the ability to filter a child list?

I have a list with a child.  I need to apply a filter to a date field in the child table, displaying all the records in the parent table (and the child fields I selected) based on that date filter.

Secondary question – what is the best approach to add the ability for the user to select a start date and end date range filter?  This is a user requirement, so I have to find a way.  Thanks.

There are no immediate plans to support that.
