I tried that and it worked ok for me.
I put a qListView on the same page as an OOB list view and I sorted both qListView and OOB ListView using the same field.
See the scenario and the results.
Can you please provide your list (with data if possible) and web part templates?

Is there a 32 character limit when sorting on a column in the qListView.
For example when I configure the Title column as Grouped=true and GroupedSortDirection=asc
It looks like sorting is correct for Title fields that are less than 32 characters but are not sorted correctly for fields greater than this.

I have looked at it again and they had used double-spaces in some of the names…I could not see this in the view or form so I opened the list item in another form that allowed me to edit the field..at this point I could see the additional characters.
Thank you for your help…the sorting is now correct.
