I tested your scenario and when a field is required blanks/spaces are not accepted as valid values.

I used a field of type Single Line of Text. what's your field type?

Regarding the issues described in the attached document, it would be helpfully if you could attach the list and the web part template to this tread.

I have used single line of text  in my form and when you type a space in the textbox and press the save and close button for the required field

The form is getting saved with out validating.

The form contains multiple textboxes as required fields.
