After migrating between SharePoint environments via DB dettach/attach, the old Quest Web Parts product was not uninstalled prior to the DB dettach. Now in the new SharePoint environment with the latest QuickApps for SharePoint version installed, the SharePoint Ribbon shows two Web Part Galleries: (1) Quest Web Parts, and (2) QuickApps for SharePoint. The Web Parts are split between the Galleries.

Cause

The Web Parts were never uninstalled from the Source environment prior to the DB dettach.

Resolution

WORKAROUND:

Run the attached PowerShell script in the customer's environment (Dev may need to be on the WebEx/call as the script may need to be tweaked if any errors are populated).

The PowerShell script needs to be run on any WFE (launch PS as an Administrator). The script will remove the Web Parts from the old Quest Web Parts gallery, deactivate and reactivate the QuickApps feature, and should place all the Web Parts in the correct QuickApps for SharePoint gallery.

The Web Parts were never uninstalled from the Source environment prior to the DB dettach.
