When trying to install QuickApps, getting “error code 2869”

When trying to install v.6.2 on SP2013, an installer “error code 2869” message is being thrown. We have verified that UAC is turned off and that the setup.msi is being ‘Run as Administrator’, but the error is still thrown.

Cause

When checking the Application Logs in the Event Viewer, there is a Critical error that says the logged in account does not have access to the SharePoint Configuration database on the SQL server.

Resolution

Verify that the account that is running the QuickApps installation is a Local Admin on the server and that it is a SharePoint Farm Administrator and has SQL rights to the content databases.
